Welcome to No.186. We are a family owned café taking great pride in our coffee.
Welcome to No.186, a family-owned café dedicated to exceptional coffee. Explore our 2 coffee blends and leaf teas. Indulge in our Brunch and Lunch menu, chef specials, and bulk catering services. We offer gluten-free, Keto friendly, vegetarian and Vegan options to suit all tastes.
With a choice of 2 different blends of coffee, you can experiment with the strength and flavours. We also have a selection of teas available in leaf style, to ensure the flavour and strength that suits your taste.
We offer a Brunch and Lunch menu along with a selection of cabinet foods. Specials from our chef are also offered on the blackboard in the café.
We are fully licensed and available for private functions for between 10-30 people. Whether it is a high tea, family get-together or a birthday celebration, the menu can be arranged by our chef to suit. Gluten-free options are available along with vegetarian on most menu options.

We just loved our stop here after flying in from Nelson. Lovely eggs Benny, coffee, staff was friendly and welcoming, and service was prompt! The patio was also gorgeous so we sat outside on a nice sunny day. Would highly recommend this spot as a must stop if you’re in Christchurch 🙂

As a coffee addict and entering without a good appetite this was surprisingly good! It's all about the little things eg. Bacon was perfectly cooked with little fat and more meat in it, them being careful with covid-19, the seats were comfy. They opened my appetite and I came out smiling 😊. The waiters were doing excellent service and food was good. Worth my money!!

Have been here a few times myself and have never been disappointed, great menu with lots for vegetarians and gluten free customers. Always beautifully cooked and presented.

The food was delicious and service was really good, although the rosti was soggy which was disappointing. It was a cold day outside and inside and there was no music playing, which at a times it felt like other tables can hear your conversations. Not a bad experience at all, but just little things that can be improved ✨🙏🏼

Coffee was great, extra shots, had omelette and husband had eggs Benny both spot on. Suggest toast with eggs Benny would be my only comment.
Worth the travel to get here. Place looks nothing from the outside, so don’t judge from that perspective. Would go back.

I really enjoyed the relaxing and quiet space of this cafe. It's very suitable for seniors, couples and families with pets to chill here. Indoor and outdoor seats available. It kind of looks ordinary on the outside, but actually quite spacious when you enter the cafe. Really nice compared to some fancy busy and crowded cafes that try to maximize ever inch of their floor.
Food and drink is good. Staffs are also friendly. Recommended!
